Jens Thygesen graduated with a BFA in Medium and Material based Art from Kunsthøgskolen in Oslo.

For Jens Thygesen clay is their closest collaborator, a fact they are certain of. It is the realm where his imagination roams freely, the sanctuary he seeks when attempting to grasp the whimsical nuances inherent in the creative process.

Jens’s endeavor to confront profound, unanswerable questions and conceive of Epistemic objects that, through their relationships and fictional narratives, could portray a non-anthropocentric future. A future wherein technological advancements are not rooted in systems prioritizing economic growth, but rather in innovations that aim to perpetuate and nurture the world in which we live.

These inventions reshape the mechanical and rigid with amorphous, almost anthropomorphic forms, as if crafted from human experiences or experiences that closely resemble human ones.

Jens participated alongside other nordic artists at SKOG’s exhibition Nordic Fragments.
