Sisse Lee

Sisse Lee (b. 1987, South Korea/Denmark) lives and works in Oslo. Working primarily with ceramics, Lee creates hand-built sculptures and objects that draw on historical forms, everyday objects and contemporary visual culture. Through shifts in scale, form and surface, she explores how familiar objects can carry cultural and historical associations while taking on new meanings in the present. Her practice moves between the recognisable and the unexpected, with a playful and curious approach to material and form.
