Vida Aasen (1992) is a artist primarily working with animal sculptures crafted in stoneware clay. Drawing inspiration from photography, personal experiences, or memories, Aasen shapes and molds the various animal bodies until she senses a lifelike quality. Imagining encounters with wild animals, whether in the woods or urban settings, with distinct body language and gazes meeting, is something Aasen endeavors to capture and convey in her sculptures. While raised in Vinstra, Gudbrandsdalen, Vida Aasen currently resides and studies in Oslo.
Assen held a previous exhibition at SKOG with Ebbe Arneberg called “Skyggesider (Shadows)“. More information about the exhibition can be found here.
