Yu Shuk Pui Bobby

Yu Shuk Pui Bobby (b. 1993) is a visual artist whose practice spans across video, performance and installation. Originally from Hong Kong and currently based in Oslo, she began her artistic journey in Asia, earning her Bachelor of Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She later relocated to Norway to deepen her research, graduating with an MFA from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO).

In her practice, Bobby explores the boundaries of the human body, future identities and the complexity between science and fiction. Her creative process is often defined by the concept of "body-making," where she uses diverse materials to simulate biological textures and futuristic forms. Through this lens, she challenges traditional social norms and examines how the "self" is constructed and reconstructed in a world of rapid technological and biological transformation.

Her work is deeply influenced by the idea of the "human-made" versus the "natural," often using storytelling to imagine speculative futures. Recently, her focus has expanded to explore the relationship between intimacy, bio-technology, and the evolving nature of human connection, turning the gallery space into a site for sensory and intellectual exploration.

Bobby was featured in an exhibition at SKOG that took place from 14 May to 7 June 2026.
